Below is a list of just some of the applications that can benefit from our products:

  • Ships – Passenger ships with a 35 passenger capacity or more are required to have either PL or electrical low level life safety pathway marking.
  • Aircraft – FAA requires that all transportation aircraft are equipped with PL or electrical low level life safety pathway marking
  • Military – The potential is endless. Some areas that the military currently uses PL for is marking tanks, submarines, aircraft carriers, helicopters, military clothing, etc.
  • NASA – NASA has incorporated PL as part of their safety standard in both the shuttles and International Space Station.
  • Fire Trucks – Sutphen, a highly reputable fire truck manufacturer in the US, has used GBC PL materials to outline the ladder steps on their fire trucks. There are endless applications when it comes to marking parts on fire trucks so fire rescue personnel can quickly see what they need when it is dark.
  • Transportation Trucks (18 wheelers) – Reflective marking is required on the exterior of truck and trailer – why not PL?
  • Street Signs – There are billions of street signs in the U.S. There is astronomical business potential in replacing all street signs with PL signage.
  • Highway Signs – Most highway signs are lit up. The U.S. is experiencing an energy crisis. Replacing all U.S. highway signs would save millions in electricity.
  • Billboards – Most outdoor billboards are lit. PL billboards would eliminate the need for lights saving millions in electricity.
  • Safety – Safety is in the forefront of everybody’s mind and is the largest industry in the U.S. Homeland security awards city’s with millions of dollars each year towards projects geared toward making cities safe. Local ordinances are being passed across the U.S. mandating PL life safety evacuation systems in high rise buildings.
  • NYC Local Law 26 – New York City was the first city in America to enforce a local ordinance requiring photoluminescent low level egress markings in stairwells of high rise buildings. This code is expected to be used as a model code nationwide. Many cities have already begun the process.
  • Fresno Municipal Code Sections 9 & 13 – Fresno, CA is the second city in the U.S. to follow in NYC’s foot steps passing a local ordinance almost identical to NYC LL26.
  • IBC 2009 – Contains a section that requires both new and existing buildings 75’+ in height to install low level egress systems in all stairwells. As states upgrade to the latest versions of IBC code standards, buildings will be required to comply and install these markings. Naturally, PL markings are the common sense solution.
  • Signs – The sign business is a 10 billion dollar a year industry. This market is untapped by PL distributors. There is a huge market in selling raw PL sheets to the sign industry.
  • Dubai – This city is growing at an alarming rate. Safety and security are an important factor in maintaining growth and drawing tourists. People in Dubai seek American made products.
  • Residential – Another untapped market. Our light switch cover, door knob ring and street address numbering system increases the likelihood of securing accounts such as Home Depot, Lowes or Wal-Mart.
